I
would like to start by saying that I believe that everyone did an amazing job,
however I have some thoughts. The first thing is any “criticisms” are in reality
just suggestions I have. The second it that well I hope the teacher will mention
the suggestions next time, I hope she doesn’t mention they were from me. With that
all out of the way let me start by saying that I believe that group 1 did the
best job out all the other groups; not only was not only was their presentation
one of the longest, but they did an amazing job at communicating with me and
letting me know what they wanted as far as the intro is concerned, and well I
don't know what my co-leader's experience I can only assume the best, based on
the outro. The only complaint or suggestion I have for them is that in the future
instead of a paragraph, I would like a point form list of what they would want for
their intro, however this a suggestion I have for all the groups, so it doesn’t
just apply to them. Now I don't want to give all this praise to group 1 without
acknowledging that group 2 also did an amazing job; so much so that I sit here
writing this I'm having a hard time deciding which group did the better job.
like group 1, group 2, did a great job at communicating with me their needs for
the intro, and well, I previously praised group 1’s presentation length I believe
that group 2 presentation was a bit excessive in length. I think could have
shortened their presentation by a few slides so as to not bored the reader. I would
like to say that as I have not read the textbook what I said could be based on
a false assumption. I look forward to seeing what group 2 has to offer. Now as
far as group 3 is concerned, I believe that they did a great job as well,
however I do have some concerns. first is that they waited until the last
minute to communicate with me regarding their intro, therefore this resulted in
an intro that I feel wasn't my best work. The second is that when they did tell
me what they wanted for their intro, it was two or three sentences at the most.
That isn’t nearly enough for me work with, and in the future, they will need to
send me their intro with four or five days of anticipation. the third is that
their presentation wasn't as long as the others. well, this can be explained by
the fact that their chapters weren't as long as the others I feel like maybe
they didn’t do as much research. I noticed that they had a video in the presentation
that was long and took up quite a bit of time, this is something I would
personally avoid in the future. but other than that, they did a really good job,
and I can say with full confidence that they will do very well in the future. I
for myself, I can say for certain that this wasn't my best work. I attribute
this to the fact that I didn't get access to the textbook in time, and
therefore I was only working off what was already written in the presentations.
And well, this gave somethings to write for the intros, I know that had I gotten
access to the textbook the work would have been better completed. This was
completely my mistake and as I know have access to the textbook, I will make
sure that this mistake doesn't reoccur in the future. From now on I will also take
the time to do research and make sure to complete the workdays of anticipation
so that it may edited if necessary. I would like to mentioned that reason why I’m
not commenting on the actual topics discussed, is because many of the topics
were so similar that I would just be repeating myself. Last but definitely
not least is my thoughts on my co leader Nyjah’ s work. The first thing I would
like to say is that I have nothing bad to about my co-leader, she did an
amazing job and I look forward to working with her in the future, therefore
what I’m about to say are just suggestions. Her outro was very well worded and explained
the topic well; you could tell that she did her research and the amount of work
that went into her outro. I do have a suggestion of how we could improve out
work in the future. we should improve communication between us, as I believe
that this would lead to better work on both ends. Perhaps we could have zoom
meetings discussing out work and our progress. I do have some suggestions that
apply to all the groups. The first it that I think that the groups need to communicate
directly with Nyjah. Not just talk to me and then have me talk to her. The second
is that I think all the groups should rehears who’s going to share the screen
and how they’re going to say things. The reason I say this is because with many
of the presenters you could tell that they hadn’t rehearsed things, so they were
focusing on reading and on keeping the audience; I believe keeping the audience
engaged is critical in a public speaking class. Now as mentioned earlier from
now I will personally require all the groups to send a point form list with four-
or five-day anticipation. I would also like receive more feedback from the groups
so the me my co-leader’s work reflect their presentations. this in my opinion
should solution any problems I had with the groups. to make a long story short
I think everyone did an amazing job and even if there were some minor problems
that had to be fixed, I look forward to seeing everyone’s future work along with
the progress the comes with it.

I was sitting here wondering how I was going to start this,
so let’s get started. I would like to start this by saying that I will not
comment on how each individual presenter did; the reasons are that #1. I don’t
really pay attention to that, #2. my autism makes it difficult to pay attention
to that, #3, I understand that many of my classmates may have been in locations
which affected the way they presented, and #4, I don’t think that the way they spoke,
or audio should distract from the rest of their work. So, this time around me,
and my co-leader were much clearer in what we expected from our classmates:
this in my opinion resulted in an improvement in communication. This time we
requested that each group send us a list of key points from their presentation;
we also made it clear that that the presentations were not supposed to use more
than 3 videos of two-minutes in length. I can say with certainty that these
presentations were of much higher quality. Though the semester is fast approaching
its conclusion I can’t wait to see what else this class has in store.
This time around group 3 did a complete 180 in their work.
Their presentation and work left me blown away; I would like draw attention to
the list they sent me and my co-leader, which gave me more than enough to write
an outro I was proud of. I feel like this time with the outro I was able to mention
each and every one of them without saying their name, something which I had
mentioned I wanted to do in previous meetings. It truly amazed me how much
improvement they’d done since last time. I think that out of all the groups,
group 3 should give themselves pats on their backs for jobs well done. If I had
one thing to say I loved the most is how well organized the information was. I would
also like to draw special attention to Tatiana, who’s leadership was no doubt the
reason for such a well put together presentation. I’m so happy to see that
group was able to improve from last time.
Group 2 once again did an amazing job. If I go further in detail,
I will say that this time around there was a bit of a down grade in the quality
of their work: I can’t say exactly what it was, but something just seamed off
this time. Their list while perhaps not as good as group 3’s, still gave me
more than enough information to write an outro I was proud of. I felt that like
with group 3, I was able mention all of them without saying their names. I
would once again draw attention to Johnathan for leading group 2. Now I want to
make perfectly clear that despite my previous complaint, this was still an
amazing presentation and group 2 should be very proud of themselves.
I’m afraid to say that this time around group 1’s
presentation had a noticeable down grade in quality. Despite the fact that we made
it clear that they were supposed to use more than 3 two-minute videos, they went
ahead and did so. Group 1 also did not send me and my co-leader a list, despite
multiple reminders to do so. Them not sending me a list resulted in an outro that
war rushed, incoherent, and with many grammatical errors. I feel like with this
outro I couldn’t say what I wanted to because, I was rushing to write it last minute.
Despite my complains I would like to draw special attention to Janelys for
leading group 1; I have no complaints about her and think she did an amazing job.
I want to stress that I do believe that I’m not trying to be overly critical of
group 1, I’m just saying things as things as I saw that, and I’m aware that my
autism may result in me having an altered perception of reality. Overall, despite
the shift in quality the presentation was still fairly well done.
Now this time something happened which resulted in me loosing
access to my WhatsApp, and thus making ma loose access to my primary form of
communication. I want to thank my co-leader for working with me through all
that. despite the loss in communication form, she and I continued to work in
perfect synergy with each other, we even met outside of class in person which I
really liked. I really hope to continue a friendship with her outside of class.
I really believe that requesting a list from each group containing the key ideas
of the presentation, truly resulted in a better intro and outro. I think that I
did a better job in writing the outro because I was able to write it like a speech,
something which I always feel like I exceled in. Like always working with Nyjah
was a dream and I hope to continue throughout the final portion of the semester.
I want to briefly talk about the recording we did of the
presentations. First thing is that I think we should have practiced before recording
it to avoid the hiccups we encountered; had we had the time I would have strongly
suggested we re-did it. Second is that based on this experience, I believe that
all groups should use the same platform to create their presentations.
In conclusion I think that everyone did an amazing job, I
think that some groups improved more than others, and I think that for future
projects I shall be clearer in what to expect from people. I also now know what
works and what doesn’t for this class. For the next project I will once again
requesting lists from all the groups.
Miss if you are reading this 1000 word is too long for a blog
a I’m seriously struggling to come up with things to write down.
Excellent reflection from a leaders perspective!
